More about The Solid Ground Financial Literacy Program
Financial control is often used as a form of abuse. Rebuilding financial knowledge and confidence can be an important step toward greater independence, stability, and choice.
Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society is now accepting applications for the Solid Ground Financial Literacy Program, a free, in-person program designed to support women who have experienced intimate partner and gender-based violence.
The program provides practical financial knowledge, emotional support, and tools to help participants better understand their finances, strengthen their confidence, and work toward greater financial independence.
The program is designed to honour each participant’s lived experience and provide an opportunity to learn one step at a time, at their own pace.
What the program helps you build
Through the Solid Ground Financial Literacy Program, participants will have the opportunity to build:
- Financial understanding through learning financial basics in clear, simple language
- Confidence in making financial decisions
- Empowerment by recognizing personal strengths and rebuilding independence
- Security by working toward greater stability for themselves and their children
- Hope for the future by exploring new possibilities and pathways forward
