Rent Bank

The Rent Bank provides financial assistance in the form of a repayable no-interest loan to renters who are on brink of losing their home. These loans can help cover essential costs like rent, damage deposit or utility bills, giving individuals and families the breathing room they need to get back on their feet.

About the Rent Bank Program

Kamloops EFry operates the Rent Bank for Kamloops and the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) — a homelessness prevention program funded by BC Rent Bank, which is operated by Vancity Community Foundation and funded by the Government of B.C.

The Rent Bank Program offers financial support to low- and moderate-income renters facing unexpected emergencies that make it difficult to pay rent, a damage deposit, or essential utilities. The goal is to help individuals and families maintain stable housing during times of crisis. Support includes interest-free loans, as well as information and referrals to other agencies that can help stabilize housing situations.

Kamloops EFry also provides financial literacy courses and one-on-one support to help you manage your budget and build confidence for the future. To learn more, contact us to book a free phone consultation.

Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society provides Rent Bank services to all TNRD residents.
