Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society operates four affordable housing buildings, each designed to offer a safe, stable, and supportive environment for individuals and families in need. These homes are more than just shelter—they are stepping stones toward security, dignity, and a brighter future.
Elizabeth Court
Located in downtown Kamloops, Elizabeth Court is a family-oriented housing complex with 46 affordable units. Offering a mix of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom suites—including 8 that are wheelchair accessible—Elizabeth Court supports families of all sizes. Subsidized units are available to help make housing more accessible.
Hill Top Apartments
Situated on the North Shore, Hill Top Apartments provides 35 affordable units for families. With a range of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom layouts—including 2 wheelchair accessible suites - Hill Top offers a supportive and inclusive living environment for those working toward long-term stability.
Corner House
Corner House offers 15 single-occupancy units, providing a safe and supportive space for individuals who need a place to rebuild and regain independence.
Penny's Place
Penny’s Place has 14 units. There are 4 accessible 2-bedroom and 10 3-bedroom suites. Penny's Place offers subsidized housing for women and children who have completed our Family Stepping Stones program, as well as those from the wider community. It’s a place where healing continues, and brighter futures begin.

About Us
We are a non-profit, charitable organization providing programs & services to people who are or, or could be, criminalized, with an emphasis on the needs of women and youth. Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society (KDEFS) provides education, advocacy, capacity building and safe, secure affordable housing within an environment of respect for each person’s right to self-determination and freedom from discrimination.

Our Purpose
Our purpose is to support women, gender diverse people, and families harmed by barriers to justice and equity, including criminalization, housing insecurity, and colonization.
We dismantle the systems and attitudes that marginalize and oppress members of our community.

Goals
- Increase shared knowledge of gaps, barriers, assets, and action steps for addressing gender equity in Kamloops.
- Work to break down silos and encourage collaboration among organizations serving cis-women, femme-identified non-binary and gender diverse people.
- Identify ways to streamline the services that focus on women and gender diverse people ensuring that we utilize a grassroots approach based in community collaboration and implementation of key services.
- Utilize an intersectional and decolonial lens to how we seek to create change.
